Burger Drops, 116 Atlantic Ave

The heavyweight. Burger Drops started as a pop up and grew into one of the city's most talked about smash burger spots, and it happens to sit right here in Liberty Village. AAA Canadian beef ground in house daily, smashed hard on the flat top for that crispy edge, on a soft bun that knows its job. Open daily 11:30am to 10pm. Lines happen at peak times. Go at an off hour, get the double, thank us later.

Paris Steak, 120 Atlantic Ave

Two doors from Burger Drops, Paris Steak opened in 2025 as a Parisian style steak sandwich shop, and the burger benefits from everything the sandwiches do: beef dry aged 30 to 45 days and butchered in house. The Ribeye Burger is six ounces of dry aged ground ribeye on a brioche bun with dijon fig, pickled onions and arugula, and it tastes like a steakhouse snuck into a takeout counter. Get the duck fat fries. Open daily 11:30am to 10pm.

LOCAL Public Eatery, 171 East Liberty St

The one you end up at after a game or a long week, and LOCAL's hand pressed Press Burgers hold their own with anything on this list. The Trophy Burger, with bacon, caramelized onions, garlic butter and red chili aioli, is the order, and the Deluxe covers the bacon and aged cheddar classicists. Big patio, lots of taps, and the kind of room where a quick bite turns into three hours. Very Liberty Village.

Liberty Soho, 139 East Liberty St

Liberty Soho is the neighbourhood's art deco lounge answer to the burger question, and the sleeper pick on this list. The wagyu smash burger is the move, and it anchors a late night menu that starts at 10pm, which makes this the rare Liberty Village burger you can get well after the kitchens around it have closed. Weekend brunch and a daily happy hour round it out. Goes down dangerously well with something from the cocktail list.

Brazen Head Irish Pub, 165 East Liberty St

The neighbourhood pub answer, and the value play. Brazen Head's half pound burger with smoked Irish bacon, Guinness cheddar and stout glazed shallots is a proper pub burger, and with happy hour running all day, every day, it makes for one of the best cheap nights out in the neighbourhood. The patio on the corner doesn't hurt either.

Liberty Eats, 129 Jefferson Ave

The late night lifesaver. Liberty Eats is a takeout counter on Jefferson with a menu of more than 70 dishes, and their prime rib burgers are the reason it makes this list. Open until midnight or later every night of the week, it covers the hours when everyone else's grill has gone cold.
